I meet a lot of people who have started their second career in mid-life. Fed-up with toxic corporate culture, had enough of the pressure. And then they plunge into a hole: London is a very competitive environment.
- Why should people hire you? There are so many accountants, coaches, consultants.
- You’re probably good at what you do, but still you can’t generate leads?
What many people seriously underestimate: You’re now on your own. You don’t have the authority of a large company behind you any more. And this lack of authority - and trust - makes all the difference.
Instead in leaning into what you assume people would buy, and doing it me-too style, you should first identify your own USP, and find out what makes you absolutely indispensable in the market. And why only you can offer your services (or products) in this way.
Craft your unique story! Find out what connects you to the clients that you ideally want to have. And find the right language to address them. Think about it like building a bridge.
